Creative Change

Positively Creative dot com is undergoing a creative change! Gone are the days of personal blogging and in come the days of artistic/creative expression; plus tips, notes, and general artistic sharing! Unfortunately, I lost the desire to maintain the site for blogging long ago due to email spam and my ever increasing desire to apply my free time to learning and applying Poser, Photoshop, and other 3d programs.

I may still blog slightly in the future...i'm even thinking about creating a myspace page...but we'll see.
I'm not going to take this site down while i'm remodeling but in the meantime pardon my dust and you can always stop by and say hi over on my Deviant Art Gallery!

Hello visitor. I'm sorry for the lack of recent updates but I have had to take a time out for job hunting. Fortunately my hunt has come to an end and I start my new position on the 26th. Until then i'll probably post infrequently but once things settle down again i'll post more regularly and make visits too. I'm also reorganizing Poser files after obtaining an external hard drive. You'll definitely learn alot from this experience which i'll be happy to share soon.

Hope you had a great Valentines Day and enjoy the upcoming Presidents Day weekend!

I do believe that Bryce 6.0 is backwards compatible so they can be used in that latest update also. I made these last summer before Bryce 6.0 was released and I have yet to install version 6. I'm so comfortable with what i'm currently using so changing just hasn't been a priority. In any case, I think you'll enjoy these 30 skies. Many of them were created to work especially with Anime scenes and renders. And wait, there's more!! I've even included 6 bonus backgrounds for your Poser scenes! The best part of all it's all free. So enjoy and let me know what you think or show me what you've created by providing a link to your creation.

I should mention that you need Bryce in order to use the 30 skies and they go in your Bryce skies folder.

Last friday the Platinum Club introduced "The Great Room" and add-ons. I created a quick scene just to see how well it would render and i'm impressed!! I created this image (click on it to see the full size) without even fooling around with the cameras a great deal. It's worth looking into and adding to your Poser collection.

Here's a couple of Poser content links I think you'll be interested in if you didn't know about them already:
Poser content by Baron Vlad Harkonnen
Handspan Studios - Really great freebies!!
Batlabs for the best freebies if you like to make your own textures. Problem is they are limited items, only around for 30 days and then they're gone and his server is extremely SLOW.

The Golden Globes

I had a pretty good weekend. On Saturday and Sunday I didn't feel very good so we stayed home and watched movies. "An American Haunting" was such a disappointment! It's good all the way through and then it has this STUPID and senseless ending. I should have watched the "Davinci Code" instead.

Yesterday John and I went to visit my daughter which was very nice. She has the nicest apartment and she keeps it so CLEAN!! A far cry from when she lived at home. Getting her to keep her room clean was like pulling teeth. My habits were the same when I lived at home with my mom. Most times you couldn't take a step into my bedroom without stepping on clothes, or toys, or books. In any case she cooked a delicious pot of spaghetti and John installed her new printer.

Afterwards we returned home and I watched the Golden Globe awards. It was fantastic in that every film and every actor/actress that I wanted won their awards. Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy, Forrest Whitaker, and Helen Mirrin were my favorites. I LOVED Helen in Elizabeth I, so to see her having a big night was great. She rocks as an actress. "The Queen" is on the top of my list for movies to see also. I have a list of 17 movies that I have yet to see. I'm really behind, so hopefully most of them will come to DVD pretty quickly.

Well, have a great Monday, i'm off to create an image in Poser that's been on my mind.

Negativity and Blogging

My purpose here is to share my creations, my growing knowledge of web design, graphics creation, and resources with my visitors. It seems one of my "tube" names may have offended "Sam" who left no real comment other than my tube name was offensive. I did some research and found that it can be offensive if the term is used generally so I removed the tube and I apologize to Sam or anyone else who may have been offended. Being that my Great-Grandmother was pure Choctaw it would seem that I would have heard that the term "Squaw" is offensive but I had not. Being that I live in Colorado that has a great population of Native Americans and several of my friends are Native American you would have thought I would have heard that the name I gave my tube was negative, but I had not. Within minutes I Googled the term and learned that the name is given to several landmarks - and many groups, including Oprah want those names changed. But I did not know this. Although I rally around many civil-rights causes, including re-naming teams like "Redskins", "Braves", etc. "Squaw" was not something I had heard about in the negative sense. So I am embarrassed of my ignorance. Especially since I made the tube for a woman who is Native American. She never complained about the name and thanked me for the tube.

I have learned that blogging can become very negative in a matter of seconds. No matter how positive one might be, someone who has a negative or different opinion will pick a fight with a blogger just to demean or hurt the feelings of the blogger -- to make a point. I used to blog quite a bit until one day I was face to face with negativity and became negative myself. I didn't like the aura or karma that that dialog brought upon my website so I shut down for a year because it just wasn't worth it. I try to see the good in people no matter what background, race, creed, or whatever. If I have a different opinion of what a blogger says I do it openly, not anonymously and I bring facts to back up my argument -- or I just leave the site and never go back rather than waste my time trying to prove we have different opinions.

I am human and we all make mistakes, whether purposely or not. I deleted Sam's comment and my own response so I can keep this site positive. Hopefully in the future a visitor can leave a real comment with email or other contact info and come across as helpful and informative instead of rude and indifferent.

Cabin Fever

So far 2007 has been kinda depressing for me. The Denver area has seen so much snow we can't handle it. I've lived here more than 30 years and i've never seen this many snow storms and the season's just getting started! Tomorrow we're getting an arctic blast coming in from Alaska of all places along with yep, you guessed it; more SNOW! We've already seen avalanches along the I-70 corridor, stranded motorists, thousands of lost and starving cattle, (and you know what that means for upcoming meat prices dontcha')? *Sigh* Okay enough complaining. The good news is our drought is probably over so the water company can stop taking all of our money so we can water the grass again this summer! Yay! I've also had plenty of time to be creative so be sure to visit my Renderosity gallery to see what i've been up to. My skills keep improving and i'm pretty proud of myself.

I hope to get some resources together for you soon and i'll also offer some freebies on Renderosity so stay tuned for that. Bare with me...I feel a mood change coming on...soon.

This darn blizzard, then another major snowstorm had me kinda bummed and bored so I had no energy to do anything creative or exciting. I'm sorry for not wishing you a very Merry Christmas, but I hope you had one anyway.

My wish for 2007 is for PEACE...PEACE...PEACE!!! I'm so tired of violence and war. Without peace no matter what our achievements are, we could lose it all in the blink of an eye. So pray and meditate for PEACE in 2007!

Blue Light Hunting

Never in my life have I searched all over town to buy Christmas lights. For some unknown reason I got it in my head that I wanted to decorate my house in blue lights. On Saturday I saw plenty of blue lights at Walmart and picked up a couple of boxes. Saturday night I realized that we needed more. Sunday we went back to Walmart for blue lights. They were sold out! That just could not be! I coaxed hubby into searching for the elusive blue lights. He went to Target, Walgreens, another Walmart, and the grocery store. No blue lights!! Plenty of multi-colored, clear, and red lights but no blue ones. Now, at this point most people would have given up since we had plenty of clear lights and multi-colored lights sitting in a box...but nooooooo. I want BLUE LIGHTS!! On Monday hubby went to another Walmart out by where he works. Still no lights. When he got home from work I dragged him back out to not one, but TWO hobby stores. Guess what?? No BLUE LIGHTS. We arrived home and I looked at my partially finished decorations and decided that maybe I could live without the blue lights and mix white lights with the blue. I pondered that thought and went to bed.

Once the sun has set and the moon begins to glow
Fairies come out to play in the winter snow.
Some are dressed up so warm in their winter clothes
Others, running about dancing on their toes.
Look at that one cried a snowman their trying to make
Whilst others decide to ice skate upon the frozen lake.
Now as it reaches midnight the snow begins to fall
All the fairies decided to dress up and have a winter ball...
